The Oakland Athletics have agreed to a one-year deal with Jed Lowrie.

Lowrie, 37, returned to the A's last season for a third stint on a minor league contract. He ultimately became a key contributor for the club.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to a contract extension with Ketel Marte, according to sources.

The deal, which is for five years and is worth $76 million, includes around $51 million in new money for the 28-year-old.

The agreement covers two existing option years for 2023 and '24 and also adds on 2025, '26 and '27 to Marte's contract.

Marte hit .318/.377/.532 in 340 at-bats in 2021.

The St. Louis Cardinals are signing Albert Pujols to a one-year, $2.5 million deal for the 2022 season.

The deal gives the future Hall of Famer a chance to end his career where it began.

Pujols, 42, spent his first 11 seasons with the Cardinals. He's expected to serve as the club's designated hitter against left-handers.

The Los Angeles Angels have agreed to a three-year, $17.5 million deal with Max Stassi.

The agreement buys out two free agent years with a club option for a third.

Los Angeles acquired Stassi in a trade with the Houston Astros at mid-summer in 2019. The deal will pay the catcher $3 million in 2022, which would have been his last season before free agency, then $7 million in both 2023 and '24.

A club option for 2025 is valued at $7.5 million and comes with a $500,000 buyout.

Right-handed pitcher Zach Davies has agreed to a one-year deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks that includes a mutual option for the 2023 season.

The Diamondbacks hope Davies can have a bounce-back season after a rough 2021 in which he was 6-12 with a 5.78 ERA for the Chicago Cubs and led the National League with 75 walks.

Free-agent catcher Stephen Vogt has reached agreement on a major league contract to rejoin the Oakland Athletics, according to multiple reports.

The deal with the two-time All-Star is pending a physical.

Vogt, a 37-year-old journeyman who had become a minor league free agent this winter, spent from 2013 through part of 2017 with Oakland and also spent the 2019 season in the Bay Area with San Francisco. 

The New York Mets have agreed to a one-year, $7.4 million contract with Pete Alonso to avoid arbitration.

The Mets also reached one-year deals with 12 other players.

Alonso, 27, received a significant raise in his first year of arbitration eligibility.

The Miami Marlins have agreed to a two-year, $6 million contract extension with Richard Bleier, according to a report.

The left-hander had been scheduled to become a free agent at the end of the 2022 season.

There is reportedly a club option for 2024 on the deal as well.

Infielder Ryan McMahon and the Colorado Rockies have agreed on a six-year extension on Monday, capping a week of spending in which the team guaranteed more than a quarter-billion dollars in salary.

The deal is worth $70 million, sources told ESPN.

Trevor Story and the Boston Red Sox have agreed to a six-year, $140 million contract, sources confirmed to ESPN.

The deal includes an opt-out after the fourth season, sources said.
